Privacy & cookies

Last updated October 18, 2026

This policy explains how Mallars House handles information through this website and guest enquiries. For privacy questions, contact mallarshouse@gmail.com or write to Mallars House, 14495 Old Seward Highway, Anchorage, Alaska 99515.

When you browse

Our room photos and arrival video are hosted with this website. We do not install analytics, advertising pixels, or social-media tracking tools. There is no account registration, enquiry form, or payment checkout on this website.

Delivering web pages requires technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Website infrastructure may process access and security logs to operate the service and investigate errors or abuse.

Website fonts

Our heading font is delivered by Adobe Fonts. Your browser connects to Adobe to load it. Adobe receives your IP address to deliver the font and collects font-service information, including the website hostname and web project identifier, for delivery, licensing, and usage reporting. Adobe states that its website font service does not set or use cookies and does not store your IP address. See Adobe’s font-service privacy information.

Cookies and browser storage

We store your privacy preferences in your browser’s local storage under mallars-house-privacy. The record contains your Google Maps choice, the policy version, and save and expiry dates. It contains no name, email address, or visitor identifier. It expires after 180 days, when we ask again; we also ask again if the purposes change.

Authorized website editors may receive a necessary session cookie when using a protected draft preview. Ordinary guest visits do not require that preview cookie.

Optional Google Maps

Embedded Google maps for Mallars House and the local guide stay off unless you allow them. When loaded, Google receives technical information including your IP address and browser information, and may use cookies or similar technologies. Google handles that information under its privacy policy.

You can decline optional services or change your choice at any time. Turning Maps off removes the embedded maps and stops new requests from them. This website cannot delete cookies Google previously placed on Google’s own domain; use your browser’s site-data controls to remove them.

When you contact us

Using an email or telephone link opens your own email or calling application. If you contact us, we receive the contact details and information you choose to share so we can answer your question or help with your stay. Please do not send payment-card details or identity documents by email.

We do not maintain a guest-enquiry mailing list or use enquiry emails for marketing. Enquiry correspondence is not routinely kept as an archive. Messages may remain in an email provider’s inbox, sent folder, trash, or backups until deleted under that service’s settings. Reservation, accounting, or dispute records may need to be retained separately for their purpose or legal requirements.

Bookings and other websites

Accommodation bookings and payments take place on Airbnb. Airbnb, Google Maps directions, and the local businesses linked in our guide operate their own websites and apply their own privacy practices. Opening those links takes you to those services; declining our optional map does not block links you choose to open.

Souvenir orders

Our souvenir shop and checkout are hosted separately by Fourthwall. Opening a shop link takes you to that service; we do not embed its checkout or tracking scripts here. Fourthwall processes order, contact, shipping, and payment information under its privacy policy. Mallars House may receive order information through its shop dashboard to manage sales and respond to customer-service requests. This website’s Google Maps choice does not control cookies or privacy settings in the separate shop.

We use service providers to deliver this website and handle communications. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably needed to protect guests, the property, or our legal rights.

Your choices and requests

Contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of information we hold about you. Rights and exceptions depend on the law that applies to you. We may need enough information to verify and respond to your request. For information held by Airbnb or Google, contact that provider directly.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our website practices change. A new optional service or purpose will require a fresh privacy choice before it loads.

Cookie settings

You control optional services. Declining keeps all room photos, the video, booking links, and directions links available.

Necessary preferences Always on

This site stores only your privacy choice in your browser for 180 days. It does not identify you or track your visits. Authorized editor previews may also use a session cookie.

No analytics or advertising services are installed. New purposes will require a new choice. Turning Maps off removes it from this page; it cannot erase cookies already set on Google’s own domain.
